Two officers killed in fierce gunbattle with rebels in Indian Kashmir, says army (Associated Press via Yahoo! India News)

Indian soldiers battled Islamic militants in a forest outside Kashmir’s main city, the first major clash in the besieged Himalayan region in almost two months, officials said Wednesday. At least two soldiers were reported killed.
