New Delhi, Nov 19: Jammu and Kashmir appears far behind than other states in women representation in the local self bodies.
andnbsp;While a record number of one million women are serving in over 250,000 self government institutions in over 450,000 villages in India, the Panchayat system in the troubled state is ?defunct for the past one year.? Even before that, the share of women in self-governance in the state was not encouraging.
