HC says police comes under the ambit of security forces |
Jammu, May 8: Describing fight against militants as “nation’s fight” the High Court today asked the State to consider police as part of the security force and entitle the policemen killed in fight against militancy to same ex-gratia relief as is being given to other forces.
andnbsp;The judgment was passed in a petition filed by Baij Nath who challenged the Govt order dated July 15, 1999. The government had enhanced ex-gratia relief from Rs 2 lakhs to Rs 5 lakhs
